1. Introduction
MoveOn ("we," "our," or "us") is a mental wellness application designed to help individuals recover from limerence. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the MoveOn mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").
By using MoveOn, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Information You Provide Directly
- Account information: display name, username, email address, and profile photo (when signing in with Google or Apple)
- Journal entries: text you write in the private journal feature
- Therapy conversations: messages exchanged with the AI therapy feature
- Community content: messages you post in community groups and anonymous posts in the community feed
- Mood check-ins: daily mood ratings (1–5 scale)
- Assessment responses: answers and scores from the limerence self-assessment
Information Collected Automatically
- Streak and activity data: your no-contact streak count, start date, last active date, milestones, and badges earned
- App usage data: features used, screens visited, session duration (via Firebase Analytics)
- Crash and error data: technical error reports to help us fix bugs (via Firebase Crashlytics)
- Device token: a push notification token used to deliver reminders (via Firebase Cloud Messaging)
- Subscription status: whether you have an active subscription and when it was activated (via RevenueCat)
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your precise location
- We do not access your contacts, photos, or camera (unless you choose to upload a profile photo)
- We do not sell your personal data to third parties
- We do not use your journal entries, therapy conversations, or mood data for advertising

4. How We Store Your Information
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore), a cloud database service operated by Google LLC. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
Your payment information is never stored by us. All subscription billing is handled by Apple App Store in-app purchases and managed by RevenueCat. We only receive confirmation of whether your subscription is active.

MoveOn uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

6. Community Content and Anonymous Posts
MoveOn includes community group messaging and an anonymous post feed.
- Group messages display your display name and avatar. They are visible to all members of the group.
- Anonymous posts do not display any identifying information to other users. However, your user ID is stored internally solely for content moderation and safety purposes.
- Reported content: when you report a message or post, the report is stored securely and reviewed by our moderation team.
We reserve the right to remove content that violates our Community Guidelines without prior notice.
7. Children's Privacy
MoveOn is not intended for users under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at support@moveonapp.co and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Portability: request your data in a machine-readable format
- Opt-out of notifications: manage notification preferences in the app under Profile → Settings
To delete your account, go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and all associated data (journal entries, therapy conversations, mood data, streak history, badges, and community content) from our servers within 30 days.

9. Data Retention
- Active accounts: data is retained for as long as your account exists
- Deleted accounts: all personal data is deleted within 30 days of account deletion
- Crash reports: retained for up to 90 days
- Analytics data: aggregated and anonymized; not linked to individuals after 14 months
10. International Users
MoveOn is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and stored in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country. By using MoveOn, you consent to this transfer.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, your legal basis for processing is your consent (provided when you create an account) and our legitimate interest in operating a safe and functional service.
11. Security
We implement commercially reasonable security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), encrypted data storage, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
